Boehner Not a Bonehead for Opposing HR 3

If I'm not mistaken (and I don't currently have the energy to do more than a little cursory research -- grad school blows), HR 3 was the bill famous for Alaska's bridge to nowhere and tens of millions of dollars more in porkbarell projects. Boehner is a "staunch opponent of earmarks," which I consider pretty honorable.

I'm more ashamed that 412 members of the House, including most of the Democrats, would support such trash. The bill, if it's the same one, was hilarious for just how wasteful it was. And now Republicans are searching under poor people's couch cushions to save the federal government a few dollars -- it's truly shameful.
